On the afternoon of November 11, Professor Tukhtashev Alisher Bakhodirovich, Dean of the Faculty of Mining at Navoi State University of Mining and Technologies in Uzbekistan, led a delegation on a visit to the School of Mines at China University of Mining and Technology for academic exchange and collaboration discussions. The School hosted a symposium in Conference Room A509, presided over by Vice Dean Qiangling Yao. Representatives from the School's International Affairs Office and related faculty members attended the meeting.
Qiangling Yao extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Tukhtashev Alisher Bakhodirovich and provided an overview of the School's development. He emphasized that as specialized institutions in the mining sector, both sides share highly aligned disciplinary focuses and talent needs. He expressed hope that this meeting would serve as an opportunity to deepen collaboration on international research projects, jointly build world-class cooperative platforms, and establish regular exchange mechanisms for faculty and students.
Tukhtashev Alisher Bakhodirovich expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception and systematically shared the educational history, faculty size, disciplinary strengths, as well as achievements in deep industry-academia collaboration and international cooperation expansion of Navoi State University of Mining and Technologies.
During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on specific matters, including the construction of joint research platforms, collaboration on specialized projects, and the optimization of faculty and student exchange mechanisms, reaching multiple consensuses.
It is reported that the School has successfully launched a "2+2" undergraduate joint program with Navoi State University of Mining and Technologies. Additionally, in 2024, through the "Landscapes of Xuzhou, Blending Culture and Mining" Summer International School program, the School provided professional training and cultural experiences for 12 faculty and students from the partner university, laying a solid foundation for further collaboration.
